Summary

At the end of the Spring and Autumn Period, Jin was in civil strife, and the orphan girl 阿拾 (A Shi) narrowly escaped death and grew up in the Qin State. 阿拾 and her friend 四儿 (Si’er) rescued 于安 (Yu An), a young man who wandered to Qin, and later met 赵无恤 (Zhao Wuxian), the son of Zhengqing of the Jin Kingdom. 阿拾 and 赵无恤 worshiped Master 蔡叔 (Cai Shu) as their teacher and set up the grand wish of “one in the world and peace in the four seas.”

阿拾, who was just beginning to fall in love, was attracted by the general 伍封 (Wu Feng) and became involved in the conspiracy of 赵无恤 to assassinate the prince of Qin. The two secretly rivaled each other and were indistinguishable. After the assassination, 伍封 wanted to marry 阿拾 to a powerful person as a concubine. Angry, 阿拾 left the Qin State and joined the 黄池联盟 (Yellow Pool Alliance) with 吴明义 (Wu Mingyi). The 黄池联盟 was the main battlefield for Jin and Wu to compete for hegemony, and all forces crisscrossed here.

阿拾 was used by 明义 to help 西施 (Xi Shi) escape from the Wu camp, but almost caused a war between Jin and Wu. 赵无恤 once hesitated because of his different position with 阿拾, but finally discovered his love for her. They each embarked on a new journey and met again in Qi.
